VIDEO: Ejuratia Aduana Royal Family Fumes Over Akua Donkor’s Funeral Announcement.

Being left out of the funeral planning for the late Akua Donkor, the flagbearer of Ghana’s Freedom Party (GFP) for the forthcoming general elections, has angered the Ejuratia Aduana Royal family.

This follows earlier reports that the family of Akua Donkor had scheduled the one-week observation for November 14, 2024, at the Ejuratia Funeral Grounds.

The family says the arrangements are not in accordance with the customs and traditions of the Aduane Royal family, and it thus feels disrespectful.

Speaking at a press conference at Ejuratia in the Ashanti Region, the spokesperson of the Aduane Royal family, Mr. Frank Baffour Akoto, said it is a total affront to the Aduana customs, traditions, usage, and morals of our family and called on the general public to reject any poster of the late Akua Donkor.

“Our anger stems from the fact that the late flag bearer of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Akua Donkor, was not only a politician but also a family member in the Aduane Royal family whose unfortunate demise must be dealt with in accordance with the customs and traditions of Aduana.

“The family is yet to announce to the Manhyia traditional council that the purported poster of the late one-week celebration on the media is fake, and the general public must treat it as such.

Meanwhile, Madam Afia Sikadodo, a family member, said the family has not received any money from any politician to throw their support for them.

The family does not participate in any decisions made by the GFP party executives.

Akua Donkor, aged 83, passed away on October 28 following a brief illness at Ridge Hospital in Accra.

Her passing has been met with an outpouring of tributes from those who admired her unique contributions to Ghanaian politics.
