Return The Votes If You Can’t Fulfill Your Promises – President Mahama Told

The Member of Parliament for the Akyem Oda constituency, Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah has advised President John Mahama to return the votes that made him a President if he knows he cannot fulfill the many promises he made during his campaign.

He said campaign promises are social contracts with the electorates and so a breach of any of them amounts to dishonesty.

Hon. Akwasi Acquah was contributing to UTVs morning show discussion, Adekye nsroma, which featured a story of President Mahama suggesting that the LGBQT bill has expired with the 8th parliament making it impossible for him to sign it into law.

Hon. Acquah wondered why the President campaigned and promised to sign the bill into law when he knows it could expire with the past parliament.

The MP who is also a former deputy minister of Health said all those who voted for President Mahama because of his promise to sign the bill into law must demand their votes from the President.
