Akyem Abenase Youth Benefits From Nana Gyewani Awere Foundation’s Apprenticeship Program

The Nana Gyewani Awere and Family Foundation, a non-governmental organization (NGO) in Akyem Abenase in the Akyemansa District, has offered logistical support and entirely covered training expenses for new youth apprentices in the community.

The effort benefitted eleven (11) young girls, including five apprentice hairdressers and six seamstresses.

The apprentices received six sewing machines, hairdressers’ equipment, and an assortment of additional supplies to aid in their learning of hairdressing and dressmaking.

The aid was extended to the new apprentices at a tiny ceremony in Akyem Abenase, where the foundation paid the entire cost of the training to the masters of the apprentices.

The foundation’s chairman, Hon. Evans Ofori Atta, who also serves as the National Democratic Congress constituency chairman for Ofoase-Ayirabi, indicated to the media that the donation is part of his and Adontenhene of Abenase, Nana Gyewani Awere IV’s commitment to assist the community’s youth in receiving handwork training so they can eventually start and run their own businesses.

He argues that the initiative will provide job avenues for the youth in Akyemansa to address the issue of unemployment.

Hon. Evans Ofori Atta explained that this initiative will become an annual gesture aimed at promoting skill development and supporting self-reliance among the youth.

He hails Nana Gye-Wani Aware IV, the Adontenhene of Abenase, for his significant effort to help the young people of Akyem Abenase achieve a better life.

He also encouraged the apprentices to take their training seriously and asked them to respect their masters so they could complete their training on time.

Hon. Evans Ofori Atta urged the Ghanaian youth to pursue skills training to become employable in the job market.

He said the labour market was shifting from white-collar jobs to skills and people with technical and vocational training.

Some of the youth beneficiaries who received the items conveyed their sincere appreciation to Nana Gye-Wani Aware IV and Hon. Evans Ofori Atta for assisting them in securing their future.
