FINANCE MINISTER TIPS THE BEST MINISTER FOR THE 1st QUARTER – COALITION OF CONCERN YOUTH.

The Coalition of Concerned Youth has commended the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, particularly the Minister for Finance, Hon. Cassiel Ato Forson, for his remarkable performance in the finance sector.

According to the Executive Director of the Coalition, Mr. Richard Boakye Mensah, Hon. Ato Forson has so far proven to be the best-performing minister in the first quarter of H.E. John Dramani Mahama’s administration.

He attributed this recognition to the recent appreciation of the Ghanaian cedi against the US dollar, describing it as a clear indication of the Finance Minister’s hard work and dedication to the country.

Speaking at a press briefing, Mr. Boakye Mensah called on President Mahama to take decisive action by urging two ministers—Energy Minister, Hon. John Jinapor, and Communications Minister, Hon. Sam George—to sit up and deliver on their mandates.

“They are sleeping on the job. The talking is too much; let the work speak for itself. The ordinary Ghanaian is suffering, especially due to excessive charges by the telecommunications companies,” he stated.

He further expressed concern over the recent arrest of the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi. Mr. Boakye Mensah insisted that the case should not be treated as a ‘nine-day wonder’ but must be pursued to its logical conclusion.

He called for the prosecution of anyone found guilty of misappropriating or embezzling public funds to serve as a deterrent to others.

The Coalition concluded by encouraging all government appointees to emulate the Finance Minister’s example and work diligently to support President Mahama’s vision for national transformation.
