Akwatia NPP Asserts Victory Amidst Electoral Commission’s Failure To Declare Results

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Akwatia constituency of Eastern region has held a presser to announce their victory in both the parliamentary and presidential elections as the district Electoral Commission officer failed to declare the results and ran out of the collation room for her life.

 

Addressing the press in a press conference held in the Akwatia  NPP party office, the chairman for the party, Nana Yaw Addo divulged that per the results collated from the various polling stations clearly indicate that the NPP party has won both presidential and parliamentary elections in the Akwatia constituency.

 

He explained that the Akwatia EC district chairperson failed to declare their parliamentary candidate, Mr. Ernest Yaw Kumi as the winner due to the fear that NDC supporters gathered at the collation centre might cause her life hence she had to ran from the collation center under a heavy armed military escort.

 

He has therefore called on all Akwatia NPP party faithfuls to keep calm as they’ve kept since last Saturday after the voting ended and has assured them of ensuring their parliamentary candidate, Ernest Yaw Kumi is declared the winner to takeover as the member of parliament elect for Akwatia constituency.

 

Meanwhile some of the party faithfuls who were present at the press conference also spoke with the media, calling on their party leaders to ensure NDC in the Akwatia constituency accept defeat and peacefully allow the EC chairperson to declare Ernest Yaw Kumi as the MP elect for the Akwatia constituency.
