YAAG Launches Legacy Project To Support Students’ Career Development And Empowerment

The President of the YALI Alumni Association of Ghana (YAAG), Mr. Abdul Latif Rufai, has advised parents to refrain from choosing career for their children but rather allow them to choose what they would want to do in future and guide them to pursue it.

 

The President of the YALI Alumni Association of Ghana (YAAG), Mr. Abdul Latif Rufai, suggests that parents should rather guide their children in pursuing their passions instead of choosing occupational field for them.

 

 

Mr. Rufai made this remarks during the inauguration of the YAAG chapter at Akyem Oda Senior High School (ODASCO) in the Birim Central Municipality of Eastern region.

The YAAG President also cautioned parents on the consequences of choosing careers for their children, stating that it can lead to dissatisfaction and disinterest if the child is not passionate about the chosen career.

The Association also launched its Legacy project emphasizing on the importance of career guidance, mentorship, ethical leadership, community service, and entrepreneurship as students were encouraged to maintain a decent lifestyle, both in school and at home.

 

 

 

 

 

The Chairperson of the YAAG’s ODASCO Chapter Committee, Madam Victoria Pokuah, expressed gratitude for the legacy project, which she believes will greatly benefit the students.

Some students of ODASCO also showed appreciation for the initiative, thanking the YAAG for introducing the legacy project, which they believe will help them make informed career choices and develop valuable skills.
