Akim Oda: NDC Candidate’s Last-Minute Withdrawal From NCCE Debate Sparks Outrage

The incumbent Member of Parliament for Akim Oda constituency, Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah expressed his profound disappointment over National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate, Mr. Jones Asante’s last-minute withdrawal from the NCCE parliamentary debate for the Akyem Oda constituency.

According to the New Patrotic Party’s parliamentary candidate, Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah, this unexpected move denied the electorate a chance to engage with the only two candidates for the parliamentary seat and undermined the democratic process.

The debate, scheduled for November 26, 2024, was highly anticipated, and many constituents had looked forward to hearing the candidates articulate their vision and policies.

Mr. Asante’s withdrawal caused significant disappointment and frustration among the electorate.

Acquah urged Asante to reconsider his decision and provide a valid explanation for his withdrawal. “The electorate deserves transparency and accountability from those seeking public office,” he emphasized.

WITHDRAWAL OF NDC PARLIAMENTARY CANDIDATE FROM NCCE DEBATE: A MISSED OPPORTUNITY FOR DEMOCRACY

I write to express my profound disappointment over the last-minute withdrawal of Jones Asante, the NDC parliamentary candidate for the Akyem Oda constituency from the NCCE parliamentary debate scheduled for 26th November 2024.

This unexpected move has not only denied the electorate a chance to engage with the only two candidates for the parliamentary seat but has also undermined the democratic process.

The debate was highly anticipated, and many constituents had looked forward to hearing the candidates articulate our vision and policies. The Jones Asante’s withdrawal has, therefore, caused significant disappointment and frustration among the electorate.

I urge him to reconsider his decision and provide a valid explanation for his withdrawal. The electorate deserves transparency and accountability from those seeking public office.
