Buz Stop Boys Call For Support In Keeping Environment Clean In Ghana

A voluntary sanitation group, Buz Stop Boys, in collaboration with Fidelity Bank, on friday, August 15th, 2025, organized a clean-up exercise

The clean-up exercise took place at the Atonsu High School Junction to Shell-Kumasi Mall.and its environs.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Augustine Aggrey, Regional Sales and Service Manager for Fidelity Bank Ghana, explained that the motive behind the clean-up was part of the bank’s Sustainability Month.

According to him, the initiative reinforces the bank’s commitment to climate action and sustainable development by aligning finance with environmental and social transformation.

Mr. Aggrey called on all Ghanaians to support the government in protecting the environment.

Meanwhile, Mr. Gideon Kofi Acquah, Ashanti Regional Coordinator of Buz Stop Boys, explained that the group is self-motivated with the aim of contributing to the city’s sanitation challenges by engaging in regular clean-up exercises. .

He therefor called for more people to join the group to ensure the environment is always clean.

He also appealed for support with equipment or tools that can be used to clean the environment.

Mr. Gideon advised the general public to continue using waste bins when disposing of waste and to avoid littering in drains.

He added that by doing so, they would contribute immensely to the reduction of Ghana’s health bill while at the same time promoting tourism.

Prince Dzordzormey, Assistant Coordinator for Buz Stop Boys, also advised the general public to desist from indiscriminate littering and practice good sanitation.

He urged the Ministry of Sanitation and law enforcement agencies to enforce laws against people who throw rubbish indiscriminately, making the environment unclean.
