Audio: I’m Done With Parliament – NDC’s Hanna Bisiw Rules Out Parliamentary Bid

The National Women’s Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the Administrator of the Minerals Development Fund (MDF), has announced that she will not contest for a parliamentary seat again.

As a former Member of Parliament for Tano South Constituency, she expressed her satisfaction with her past work.

She claims that even though she is not scared of the pressure of serving in parliament, but she has made up her mind not to pursue the role further.

As someone who has been there before and is familiar with their responsibilities, Dr. Bisiw-Kotei expressed regret over the stress that Members of Parliament endure and pledged to advocate for better service conditions for them.

She claims that serving as a member of parliament requires significant sacrifice.

Despite her decision regarding parliament, Dr. Bisiw-Kotei expressed her commitment to serving her constituency, even as she chooses not to pursue a parliamentary role further.

Dr. Bisiw-Kotei highlights the challenges faced by MPs, citing a situation where by some of the parliamentarians also sever as minister and the personal choices they make regarding their political careers.
