Akim Oda NPP’s Health Walk Draws Large Crowd As Akwasi Aquah And Quaitoo Unite.

The Akim Oda Constituency in the Eastern Region came to a standstill as the incumbent Member of Parliament and the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate, Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah, and other party stalwarts embarked on a health walk.

Mega victory Walk

The event which took place on Sunday, November 17, 2024, attracted thousands of enthusiastic supporters who joined the party leaders in the walk.

The streets of Akim Oda were painted with NPP colours as supporters clad in party paraphernalia marched through the city.

Notable NPP stalwarts in attendance included; the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) OF Tree Crops Development Authority and the former Member of Parliament for Akim Oda, Hon. William Agyapong Quaitoo, Hon. Joyce Adjoa Agyeiwaa, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Birim Central Assembly and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman for the Akim Oda Constituency, Ampaabeng Assimeng, among other constituency executives.

The health walk halted activities in the constituency as supporters cheered and chanted slogans supporting the party.

The event demonstrated the NPP’s strong presence in the constituency and clearly showed their determination to retain power.

“With the health walk, the NPP has once again shown its commitment to engaging with the people and promoting a healthy lifestyle,” some members said.

Agenda 90% votes

Addressing party sympathizers and supporters at a mini durbar following the health walk, Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah, the deputy minister of health, pledged to secure 90% of the vote for himself as the party’s parliamentary candidate and for the vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as their presidential candidate.

He states that Akim Oda offered the NPP more than 75% of the votes in the last presidential and legislative elections.

He continued by saying that with confidence and assistance, he will obtain 90% of the vote this year for Bawumia and himself. He says this with confidence considering the significant progress the constituency has witnessed under the NPP government alongside his outstanding leadership as an MP.

He additionally stated that the big turnout of people attending the health walk shows that the goal will be met.

He says that the wonderful people of the Akim Oda constituency sincerely adore the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and that the party has never let them down, citing the central market project as a major legacy.

In the words of Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah, the constituents should expect more development projects from him and the government as the elections draw near, particularly in the area of roads because he is still lobbying.

He called on political actors especially the main opponent National Democratic Congress’s members to demonstrate a prominent level of tolerance to ensure that there is peace in the constituency before, during, and after the election. He went on to say that the NPP members had also been instructed to run an honorable campaign.

Peace Prevail

Former Member of Parliament for Akim Oda and CEO of the Tree Crops Development Authority, Hon. William Agyapong Quaitoo, reiterated his commitment to maintaining harmony between his supporters and those of the incumbent MP, Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah.

Following the 2020 Akyem Oda NPP primaries, in which Alexander Akwasi Acquah unseated the former Member of Parliament, there has been an unresolved, protracted conflict within the party.

However, in a shocking turn of events, the CEO of the Tree Crops Development Authority was spotted participating in the just-ended NPP health walk and actively showcasing Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah, the incumbent MP and the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate, for a second term.

Speaking to the media, Hon. William Agyapong Quaitoo said that there is peace in the Akim Oda NPP now and they are focusing on victory in the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.

He said, “As you can see, I am campaigning for Alexander Akwasi Acquah and am wearing his t-shirt; therefore, there is no conflict between my fans and his”.

According to Hon. William Agyapong Quaitoo, Ghanaians should protect the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy by voting for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate, in the upcoming elections.

He described the vice president as a leader with integrity who has the capacity to transform Ghana.

“Bawumia’s vision will bring meaningful change to this country. He is a man who believes in progress, accountability, fairness, and inclusion,” he declared.
