NAPO Under Fire For “Misguided” LGBTQ+ Comments

The Association of Liberal Muslims-Ghana has condemned recent comments made by Dr.Mattew Opuku Prempeh -Napo, the running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP)

Dr.Prempeh, during a campaign event in Kumasi-Bantama, claimed that the National Democratic Congress NDC under the leadership of Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, had developed a curriculum that introduced Comprehensive Sexually Education with LGBTQ+ content for school children.

He also alleged that Muslim Imams and church leaders were tasked with influencing teachers to teach the curriculum.

Speaking at a Press conference in kumasi, The National vice president for Ghana Muslim student Association Abdul Hakeem Abdul Razak called Dr, Prempeh’s assertions misguided and demanded an immediate retraction and apology.

“This baseless accusation against our noble Imams is a deliberate attempt to tarnish the image of Muslims and a mockery of our noble region, he said,

The association challenged Dr. Prempeh to categorically mention the names of those Imams he alleged were involved.
